Partners in the product design studio giffin‚termeer, designers and educators Jess Giffin and Jim TerMeer primarily work at the small scale of objects such as boutique electronics, lighting, gifts and wearable products. Their work spans across commercial and cultural venues, most recently exploring lightweight lighting, growing products, and the nature of 3d scanning. Alongside their work with the studio, they are both faculty at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, teaching in design, fashion, and printmedia. Recent exhibitions include: The Future is not What it Used to Be, 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial, Istanbul, Work/Shop Tuttobene at the Magazzini, Milan, Bio23: Design Relations, The Museum of Architecture and Design, Ljubljana. Their work has also been exhibited at Tokyo Design Week Container Exhibition and the Cheongju Craft Biennale. Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Espace EDF Electra, Paris, Seoul Design Olympiad Design Biennale St. Etienne.
